The method
How this calculation works
- 01Combine each date and time into a single point in time.
- 02Subtract the start from the end to get the difference in minutes.
- 03Break that difference into days, hours, and minutes for a readable duration.
- 04Also divide by 60 for total hours and by 1,440 for total days in decimal.

- —If the end is earlier than the start, the calculator flags it rather than returning a negative duration.
